『義経千本桜』は、源義経ゆかりの人々や、生き残った平家の公達など、それぞれの生き様を描く壮大な作品です。

このブローチは、作中に登場する「初音の鼓」と、義経の家来・佐藤忠信に化けていた狐をモチーフにしたアイテム。

この狐は、「初音の鼓」の皮にされた夫婦の狐の子で、親恋しさから鼓を慕い、鼓の持ち主である静御前に付き従い旅をします。

愛おしそうに鼓を抱き、ほおずりする姿が哀しくも愛らしいアイテムです。

This grand period drama depicts the lives of those connected to Minamoto no Yoshitsune, as well as the surviving nobles of the defeated Heike clan.

This brooch features the Hatsune no Tsuzumi drum and the fox that had masqueraded as Yoshitsune’s retainer, Satō Tadanobu.

This fox is the child of the pair whose skins were used to make the drum.

Out of longing for its parents, it follows the drum’s owner, Shizuka, on her journey.

The fox’s tender expression as it lovingly holds and nuzzles the drum is both sorrowful and endearing.
