妖怪「提灯お化け」をモチーフにした根付け。

古くなった提灯が変化したとされる付喪神の一種です。

大きな一つ目が印象的なユニークなデザイン。

人間をおどろかせているのか、古びた提灯が上下に割れて大きな口となり、長い舌をずるりと飛び出させた姿を表現しています。

年季の入った提灯の質感を再現するため、かすれた風合いを表す着色とマット加工で仕上げました。

提灯の持ち手部分は揺れるようにデザインされ、着用するとゆらゆらと揺れ、人々を驚かせて楽しんでいるようにも見えます。

板には火の玉のモチーフをあしらい、炎のゆらめきを思わせます。

擦れなどでマット加工が取れてツヤが出ることがありますが、時とともに変化する様子をお楽しみください。

Netsuke inspired by the Chōchin Obake, a type of Tsukumogami said to arise from old, well‑worn paper lanterns.

Its large single eye gives the piece a strikingly whimsical look.

The design depicts a weathered lantern split open into a wide mouth, as if startling a passerby, with a long tongue lolling out dramatically.

To recreate the aged texture of an old lantern, the surface is finished with faded, worn‑looking colors and a matte coating.

The lantern’s handle is crafted to sway, so when worn, it gently rocks back and forth—almost as if the mischievous spirit inside is enjoying surprising people.

The wooden tag features a motif of floating fireballs, evoking the flickering glow of ghostly flames.

With continued use, areas of the surface may gradually develop a natural sheen as the matte texture softens.

These subtle changes are considered part of the piece’s evolving character over time.
